Exploring certainty, resilience, and responsibility in mineral value chains
Creating Certainty in a World of Change
Certainty is often called for, but what does it really mean in practice? And how can it be built into systems defined by complexity, uncertainty, and rapid change?
As global mineral value chains face growing pressure from geopolitical shifts, climate risks, technological transformation, and evolving societal expectations, the 2026 Responsible Raw Materials conference will explore how certainty can be created, strengthened, and sustained from the perspective of resilience and responsibility. We will examine how certainty is experienced differently by governments, industry, investors, workers, and communities; and what it takes to align these perspectives in ways that support reliable supply, responsible practice, and long-term shared value.
From Responsibility to Certainty
Following previous editions on Responsibility, the ESG Toolbox, the Just Transition, the Criticality of Trust, Critical Choices, and Collaboration - Charting Success Together, this seventh Responsible Raw Materials online conference brings the focus to certainty itself - how it is built, who benefits from it, and what happens when it is absent.
Through expert talks, case studies, and facilitated discussions, RRM 2026 will highlight practical experiences from across disciplines and regions, moving beyond abstract debate and toward actionable insights for creating certainty in a changing world.

Special Event! 100 Perceptions: Raw Materials Screening and Panel Discussion
As part of the Responsible Raw Materials Conference 2026, we are hosting a special screening of 100 Perceptions: Raw Materials, followed by a live panel discussion.
This documentary captures a unique live social science study, bringing together 100 participants to explore how perceptions of raw materials are formed, challenged, and reshaped. It highlights the diversity of views surrounding minerals - and the importance of creating space for open, inclusive conversations.
Positioned between two conference sessions on Wednesday, 29 April, this event offers a moment to pause and reflect. It will bring together the contributors to the project, who will revisit how and why the documentary was created, and consider its messages one year on - exploring what has changed, what still resonates, and what it tells us about perception, communication, and decision-making in a rapidly evolving world.

Schedule
- 12.00 pm - 12.30 pm - Opening Panel (behind the scenes insights into making a documentary)
- 12.30 pm - 1.00 pm - Screening of 100 Perceptions: Raw Materials
- 1.00 pm - 1.30 pm - Closing Panel (lessons and thoughts a year since its launch)
