Rodrigo Galleguillos – 2026 – Indigenous Peoples and the Development of Mining Projects in Latin America: Challenges and Opportunities

Rodrigo Galleguillos is a Chilean lawyer and Founding Partner at Galleguillos Abogados (Santiago), with 18 years advising mining, industrial, and renewable energy projects. He holds a Law Degree from the University of Chile and an LL.M in Environmental and Natural Resources Law & Policy from the University of Denver. He has worked across every stage of a mining project — from exploration to closure. His practice sits at the intersection of Environmental Law and Indigenous Peoples’ rights, where he focuses on facilitating dialogue and building shared value. He also serves as Mining Law Professor at the University of Santiago de Chile Law School.
