Kevin D’Souza is a globally recognized mining sustainability leader with over 30 years of hands-on operational experience across more than 50 countries—from remote exploration camps and active mine sites to corporate boardrooms and government ministries.
His career spans consultancy, executive, and board-level roles, advising industry leaders including AngloGold Ashanti, Anglo American, Rio Tinto, BHP, and De Beers. He has led sustainability integration through multi-billion-dollar acquisitions, restructurings, and divestments, and has navigated complex stakeholder environments across diverse political, cultural, and regulatory contexts.
Kevin has led sustainability integration in multi-billion-dollar acquisitions, restructurings, and divestments, ensuring compliance with ICMM, IFC, EBRD, Equator Principles, VPSHR, and related frameworks. His expertise spans environmental management, health and safety, security, community relations, government affairs, and regulatory permitting.
A former SVP of Sustainability at Kinross Gold and Chief Sustainability Officer at Resource Capital Funds, he has also held senior roles at Centerra Gold and Barrick, and advised the World Bank, USAID, DFID, and UN agencies on mining development and policy reform. He has worked directly with Indigenous groups, local communities, governments, and civil society in some of the world’s most challenging operating environments.
Kevin serves on the boards of Benwerrin Capital Partners and Cuso International, and holds advisory roles with Mining 2030, Mining Security Working Group, and International Women in Mining.
