Mukesh Kumar – 2026

Mukesh Kumar received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cambridge in 2010. He is an Associate Professor in Operations Management, Head of the Industrial Resilience Research Group, and Director of the Global Supply Chain Observatory (GSCO) at the University of Cambridge. His academic tenure at Cambridge has been marked by a focus on resilience, sustainability, and global supply chains. Prior to his academic career, he gained substantial experience in corporate finance and investment banking in Mumbai and Bangkok. He teaches courses ranging from supply chain risk management to industrial psychology. His research interests include the U.K.–India Critical Mineral Supply Chain Observatory and circular economy practices in manufacturing networks, all of which have attracted substantial grant support. He was the recipient of the Highly Commended Paper at EUROMA and the Best Paper Award from the International Journal of Production Research.
