Michelle Hohn, MA, CDI.D
Michelle is the President and lead project manager at Akashic Communications Corp., a consultancy specializing in sustainability and social performance initiatives in the global resource sector. She is best known as a resourceful and strategic leader and subject matter expert in sustainability frameworks, strategy & execution, enterprise risk management, human rights risk assessment and due diligence, psychological health and safety and stakeholder engagement.
A passionate industry advocate for sustainability topics she stewards, Michelle has contributed thought leadership articles in The Northern Miner, Mining.com and the Intelligent Miner, co-facilitated a MiHR webinar on Addressing Sexual Harassment in Canadian Mining, and was a Key Note Speaker at AME RoundUp (2024) on the topic of Psychological Health & Safety. She also contributed substantively to the inclusion of psychological safety and identification of psychosocial hazards in the TSM Safe, Healthy, and Respectful Workplaces Protocol (2023) update.
Most recently Michelle launched GEMS Unearthed: Stories of Women Shaping the Future of Mining – a global digital archive and dynamic library without borders – which uniquely pairs a storytelling initiative with innovative technology to elevate the visibility and amplify the exposure of women in mining.
Michelle has a MA in Professional Communications and holds a Certified Director International (CDI.D) designation. She is a Director (Audit & Corp Governance Committee) with the Canadian Polish Business Association.
