Claire Alidenes – 2025 – Experiences in mining and finance

Bio

Claire is a Principle Investment Specialist at Asian Development Bank, currently based in Manila. She has had a varied and dynamic career, with more than 20 years of experience in the mining sector, holding numerous roles in Rio Tinto across productivity improvement, capital projects, strategy, innovation, governance and procurement; and worked as a consultant reviewing capital projects in the mining and oil and gas sectors.

Claire has also worked for government organisations including the Australian Department of Treasury as an international economic policy advisor; and The Ministry for Rural Rehabilitation and Development in Afghanistan as a senior advisor to the Minister.

She has a proven track record of leading the delivery of strategic and transformational programs which have resulted in concrete, measurable improvements across a diverse range of organisations and sectors.

Claire is focused on delivering outcomes predicated on the ability to develop strong relationships, build highly engaged teams and identify key success factors.

She has a powerful ability to lead diverse teams across different cultures, locations and functions, with a background in development economics and hands-on experience in Mongolia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Tanzania. This variety of experience has been instrumental in successfully navigating cross-cultural environments as well as effectively driving change in complex and remote areas.
