Matt Grimshaw – 2026 – Certainty in Mineral Exploration: Understanding Discovery in Context

Matthew Grimshaw is a Chartered Geologist with over a decade of experience in the natural resources sector. He holds a PhD from the University of Leeds, where his research focused on gold mineralisation, and began his career in exploration consulting before moving into sustainability and risk management with Satarla.

Across his work, he has focused on linking geological potential with the wider context that ultimately determines whether a project can succeed, including environmental, social, regulatory, and operational factors. This approach is centred on enabling more informed and responsible decision-making in early-stage exploration.

He is the co-founder of Worth Discovery, a venture built on the view that geology and mineral exploration rarely reach their full potential because we fail to integrate the full range of factors and context in which projects operate. Worth Discovery is developing a practical, systems-based framework to map these connections and support clearer, more informed decisions.
