Happy new year! Starting 2021 with parliament mining training

Happy new year!

Whilst many are (understandably) happy to see the back of 2020, at Responsible Raw Materials we have been looking back with pride. Our launch conference in May was a huge success, and the following months produced lots of exciting projects.

Now, to kick off 2021, Responsible Raw Materials is taking a big step and engaging with the UK Government and Parliament, working in collaboration with the Critical Minerals Association to raise awareness of responsible mining and influencing policy development on establishing a critical minerals industry in the country. To find out more about the Association and what they do, check out the video below.

In the next couple of months, we will be delivering training to researchers working for Members of Parliament. They are a key group of influencers who help shape policy and legislation. This mining training will include technical content on the exploration for and extraction of metals and minerals critical to hitting many of the targets laid out by the government. These goals include Industrial Strategy, Net Zero by 2050, fleet electrification by 2030, dominance in the wind power market and generally embarking upon a ‘Green Industrial Revolution’ with 250,000 green jobs.

We are incredibly excited to be involved and leading a key conversation on responsible raw materials, as it is essential that the risks – both threats and opportunities, inclusive of social, political, government relations, environment, health, safety, etc – faced by the mining sector and those who interact with it are understood at the highest levels.

We have lots of other exciting projects and events coming up throughout the year, so be sure to check our upcoming events page.
