In this talk, Emily Lewis outlined what is meant by the ‘Just Transition’, a term which has different meanings for different stakeholders.
BIOGRAPHY

Emily is a solicitor by profession, specialising in legal and regulatory risk and compliance. Emily’s experience stems from private practice, where she advised multinational clients from a variety of sectors (including mining, transport, telecoms and finance) on matters ranging from high-profile corruption investigations and prosecutions to governance risk and the re-design and implementation of corporate compliance procedures.
Emily also has experience working in-house at energy and transport companies advising on corporate governance and compliance matters, developing training programmes, and building the capabilities of internal compliance teams to effectively manage risk.
In 2020, Emily was selected as 1 of 20 participants in a year-long leadership programme for experienced professionals to gain insight and experience in the social and environmental impact sector. This experience informs Emily’s approach to governance, where she explores the intersections between risk, impact and accountability to promote positive social and environmental change.
